Building a stronger future: how epic ERP is evolving to serve our customers better

At epic ERP, we believe the key to delivering exceptional outcomes lies in asking the right questions. In a recent internal strategy session, our team came together to unpack some of the challenges and opportunities that will shape the next phase of our journey. The insights we gained are already helping us refine our approach to projects, customer relationships and team development.

“Great companies don’t stand still,” says Stuart Scanlon, Managing Director of epic ERP. “This session was about holding up a mirror, being honest about where we can improve and mapping out how we get better. Ultimately, everything we do must add value for our customers.”

Driving better project outcomes

One of the key discussions centred on project implementation. Like many in the ERP space, we know that projects can sometimes overrun on time and budget. Our team explored the root causes of this – from misaligned expectations to skill gaps – and began charting a path to stronger governance and clearer scoping.

“ERP implementations are complex by nature,” says Stuart. “But complexity isn’t an excuse for overspend. By investing in our people, refining our methodologies and partnering closely with clients, we’re aiming to deliver consistently on time and on budget.”

Defining the ideal customer partnership

The session also explored what makes for a successful client relationship. Traits like clear objectives, executive buy-in, dedicated resources and open communication were highlighted as key to a smooth ERP journey.

“An ideal customer is one who sees us as a partner, not just a vendor,” explains Stuart. “When there’s mutual trust, collaboration and a shared commitment to success, we see amazing outcomes. That’s the type of relationship we strive to build every time.”

Investing in people for long-term growth

Our people are at the heart of our success, and developing their skills is critical to our future. The team discussed strategies for personalised development plans, leadership training and continuous learning.

“We’re building a culture where our consultants, developers and managers can grow into bigger roles over time,” says Stuart. “This doesn’t just benefit our team. It also means our customers get to work with highly skilled, motivated professionals who can solve their challenges more effectively.”

Listening and learning

Finally, the session reaffirmed the importance of listening to our customers. Regular feedback through surveys, post-implementation reviews and ongoing conversations will help us stay aligned with client needs and continuously improve our service.

“Customer success is an ongoing journey,” says Stuart. “By keeping our ears to the ground and acting on what we hear, we can help our clients unlock the full value of their ERP investment.”

As epic ERP looks to the future, one thing remains constant: our commitment to helping businesses work smarter, faster and more effectively.
